Welcome to Springfield, IL 365!
My purpose in creating all of this is simple. I grew up here and complained that there was nothing to do.
I went away to college and had the fortune of living in a pretty big city (Nashville, TN) for about six or seven years. I was rarely bored. Then I saw someone doing a 365 Nashville. I said to myself, there has to be 365 things to do in or near Springfield.
So, for the next year I will try to find something to do for folks in Springfield and the surrounding areas. Feel free to contact me here about any events or places that you love!

- Ever since moving back home to Springfield, IL, I've had this "I'm not going to settle" attitude. You will often see me bouncing from one project to another. This is of course in between my many jobs!
You should watch the paper for local festivals, etc. All summer long there are things, Chatham Homecoming, Blues & BBQ, there's a Jazz Fest downtown, Chatham Sweetcorn Festival, and many more. And then all of the obvious historic sites - Dana Thomas House, Old State Capitol, Elijah Iles House. Shows at the PCC and Sangamon Auditorium.
